PAINTING/PRINTMAKING Art 433, Space and Abstraction
A course for intermediate and advanced painting students exploring historical and contemporary issues in abstract painting including geometric, optical, material, and gestural abstraction. Studio work is complemented by in-depth study of flatness, depth, color, authorship, and expression. After guided assignments, emphasis is on self-directed projects. May be taken more than once.
